The craft table is set. Paints and brushes are ready. All that's missing is a blank to work with. This MDF hexagram is made for exactly that kind of crafting afternoon. It's a six-pointed star with smooth laser-cut edges. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply hang it up as it is. A plain fibreboard becomes your very own decoration – for Christmas, for the window or as a small gift.

What changes for you

  • You can get started straight away with paint, decoupage or glue. The HDF is untreated and in its natural state, so everything sticks without any preparation.
  • You get clean results without sanding. Thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges, there are no rough edges.
  • You'll find the right size for every project. Choose anything from a small 5 cm tag to a large 50 cm wall star, in 1 cm steps.
  • You can plan bigger projects with ease. In sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, there are enough for a whole craft group or a shop window display.
  • You can rely on consistent quality. Every hexagram is made in our own production in Pößneck.

Why this hexagram makes a difference in everyday life

Ready-made decorations look the same everywhere. A star you've designed yourself tells your story. A cleanly made blank that feels sturdy in your hand makes crafting more fun. And the result is something to be proud of. On the window, on a branch or above the shop counter: the six-pointed star brings a calm, clear shape to your decorations.

Material & finish

The hexagram is made from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough to hang up or stand on its own. It is also light enough for window decorations and gift tags. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and a clean finish. The board is untreated, with no varnish or glaze. You decide on the colour and finish yourself. Good to know: fibreboard naturally shows fibres in different shades and small irregularities. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. Made in Thuringia, Germany. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.

How to use the hexagram

  • Making Christmas decorations: paint a few stars, add ribbon and hang them on a branch. Your window is decorated in an hour.
  • Crafting with children: each child decorates their own star with paint and glitter. At the end, they proudly take home a gift they made themselves.
  • As gift tags or for making an advent calendar: write on the small sizes or number them. Every parcel looks lovingly made.
  • For model making and all kinds of decorations: the sturdy blank can be decorated, covered or built into larger pieces. You don't have to do any sawing yourself.
  • In a shop, café or at the weekly market: with a set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can decorate your shop window and counter in a uniform style. It's quick to set up and can be reused every year.

Good to know about the hexagram

The hexagram is formed from two interlaced triangles. It's one of the oldest star symbols of all. It's known as the Star of David. In southern Germany, it's also known as the brewer's star on old inns. So the six-pointed star suits not only Christmas decorations. It also fits festive occasions as well as guild and tradition themes.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated blanks in a dry place. If needed, just wipe them with a dry cloth. Avoid prolonged damp. With a coat of paint or a sealant of your choice, you'll enjoy your decoration for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the hexagram or stick things on it? Yes. The HDF is in its natural state and untreated. You can paint it, decorate it and glue things onto it without any preparation.

Do I need to sand the edges? No, the cutout is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges you can work with straight away.

Why do the boards look different? HDF boards are made from pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small impurities. That's exactly what makes every piece unique.

How does the width relate to the height? At a chosen height of 10 cm, the width is 9.5 cm. Other sizes follow the same ratio.

Is the hexagram suitable for larger projects? Yes, as well as single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces. They're ideal for craft groups, schools or shop decorations.

What counts is the moment your self-designed star hangs in the window. The room suddenly feels a little more festive. Just choose your size and quantity – and start creating.
