Autumn is setting in and Halloween is just around the corner. You'd like to decorate your window, table or children's room with something you've designed yourself. This HDF witch's hat is made for exactly that. It's an untreated wooden cutout for crafting, painting and decorating. It turns your idea into Halloween decorations that are all your own. Use it on its own or as a set for your next crafting afternoon. Either way, you do the designing.

What changes for you

  • You design your Halloween decorations just the way you like them. The witch hat is untreated, so you can stick things on it, paint it, oil it or draw on it.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea, from a small table scatter piece to a large window decoration. You can choose any height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can craft with children in peace, without snagging on rough edges – because laser cutting leaves the edges smooth.
  • You can plan bigger projects like children's parties, school crafts or shop decorations without reordering. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.

Why this witch hat makes a difference

Shop-bought Halloween decorations often look the same everywhere. A witch hat you've decorated yourself shows your own style. It comes in your colours, with your patterns, to suit your home. And the crafting itself becomes time spent together. Get the brushes out, put the paints on the table, and the decorations for your next Halloween party take shape at the kitchen table.

Material & finish

The witch hat is made of 3 mm MDF or HDF. These are high-density wood fibre boards. They keep their shape and feel pleasantly smooth. Every cutout is laser-cut, which leaves the typical brown edge. This edge gives the motif a clear outline. The material is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. This means paints, glue and oils adhere reliably. As a natural product, the wood fibres show lighter and darker patterns and may have small irregularities. That makes every piece one of a kind. Every witch hat is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the witch's hat

  • Crafting with children: Every child paints their own hat. In the end, a little parade of witch hats hangs in the window, and everyone is proud of it.
  • For your Halloween party: Put a witch hat at every place as a place card or table scatter. Your guests will be in the mood as soon as they sit down.
  • For model making or dioramas: The small sizes from 3 cm can be used straight away. You don't need to saw anything yourself.
  • In a bakery, café or shop: Large cutouts up to 50 cm turn your shop window and counter into seasonal autumn decorations in just a few minutes. After Halloween, they're just as quickly packed away again.
  • In nurseries, schools or craft groups: With sets of 10 or more, you have identical blanks for the whole group. Everyone starts with the same piece, and every result turns out different.

Good to know about the witch's hat

For centuries, the pointed hat with a wide brim has been part of the classic image of the witch in fairy tales and folklore. Today it is one of the best-known symbols of Halloween. That's why the motif works so reliably. One glance is enough, and everyone knows which season is being celebrated. It works in the window, on the party table or in the shop window.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated cutout in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. Then it keeps its shape. You can bring it out again next year or give it a new design.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the witch hat or stick things on it? Yes. The MDF/HDF is untreated and takes paints, varnishes, oils and glue well. You can decorate it however you like.

Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The witch hat is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a clear, clean outline. It isn't a defect. It's a feature of laser cutting.

Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape is always identical. However, the wood fibres can vary in shade and show small irregularities. This is typical of wood fibre boards and makes every piece one of a kind.

How wide is the witch hat? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is approx. 13.3 cm.

A wooden cutout is only the starting point. What counts is the afternoon at the kitchen table spent painting, gluing and laughing. And the decoration that hangs in the window afterwards, a little proudly. Just choose your height and quantity. You design the rest.
