The Pumpkin with hat V1 is laser-cut from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It comes from Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The result is smooth edges and a clean finish. You can pick up the shape and start decorating right away. The board is left natural. It is not varnished and not glazed. This means paints, glues and pens stick reliably. Good to know: pressed wood fibres always show slightly different textures. Some areas are lighter, some darker. This makes every piece one of a kind and is not a defect. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, just more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.

Can I paint the pumpkin and stick things on it? Yes. The HDF is untreated. You can prime it, paint it and glue things to it. Paints and glues stick well to the natural surface.

Do I need to sand the edges? No. The pumpkin is laser-cut and therefore has smooth edges. You can start decorating straight away.

Why doesn't the surface look the same everywhere? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small impurities. This is typical of the material and makes every piece unique.

How wide is the pumpkin at the height I choose? For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7.5 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.

Is the pumpkin suitable for outdoor use? The material is untreated and should be protected from prolonged moisture. For outdoor use, we recommend a sheltered spot and an opaque coat of paint or varnish.
