This MDF pumpkin cutout, 5 to 50 cm tall, is made for exactly that – and for your Halloween decorations. It's a clear pumpkin silhouette. Material & finish

The pumpkin silhouette is made from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough to stand up, hang and work with. At the same time, it is light enough for window decorations and hanging mobiles. The cutout is laser-cut, so the edges are smooth and the outline is clean. The board is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This makes it ideal as a base for acrylic paint, varnish or decoupage. Good to know: HDF is made from pressed wood fibres. The surface therefore always shows slightly different textures and shades, and sometimes small irregularities. This makes every piece unique and natural. It is not a flaw, it is part of the material.

How to use the MDF pumpkin

• Crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: everyone paints their own pumpkin. By the evening, a whole pumpkin parade is hanging in the window.

Care & durability

There isn't much to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. The fibreboard is untreated, so protect it from constant moisture. Indoors or in a sheltered spot, your pumpkin will keep its shape and look good for many seasons. If you paint or varnish it, the surface becomes even more resistant.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the pumpkin or glue things on it? Yes. The MDF is untreated and can be painted and decorated with glued-on materials – for example with acrylic paint, varnish or napkin technique.

Are the edges smooth enough for children? Yes. The cutout is laser-cut, which gives it smooth edges. It is well suited to crafting with children.

How do height and width relate to each other? As a guide: if you choose a height of 10 cm, the width is also 10 cm.

Why doesn't the surface look the same everywhere? HDF boards are made from pressed wood fibres. Fibres in different shades and small irregularities are typical of the material. They make every piece unique.
