The Advent wreath is up and the first biscuits smell wonderful. Only the windows, door and presents are still missing the right figure. This decorative gingerbread man made of HDF is made for exactly that. It is an untreated blank figure. You can paint it, stick things on it and design it just the way you like. A plain wood fibre figure becomes your own Christmas decoration. Or it turns into an afternoon of crafting with the children.

What changes for you

  • You make your own Christmas decorations instead of buying them ready-made. The MDF surface is untreated, so you can paint it, stick things on it or decorate it.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose anything from a small 5 cm gift tag to a 50 cm figure for a shop window, in 1 cm steps.
  • You can get started straight away with no extra work. The edges are laser-cut and smooth, so there is nothing to sand or deburr.
  • You can easily supply larger craft groups or events. The gingerbread man is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You can rely on consistent quality. Every figure is laser-cut and neatly finished in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this gingerbread man makes a difference in everyday life

Gingerbread figures you have decorated yourself feel different from mass-produced ones. They remind you of the afternoon you made them. And their colours match your home exactly. Hang them in the window, on a fir branch or as a tag on a present. The familiar shape instantly brings a Christmas mood. You hold the blank in your hands, so you decide how it turns out. Classic brown with an icing look, or something completely different.

Material & finish

The figure is made from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough for hanging and decorating. At the same time, it is light and easy to work with. Laser cutting gives it smooth, clean edges. The surface is left natural, neither varnished nor glazed. This is ideal, because paint, glue and embellishments stick well. Good to know: HDF boards are made from pressed wood fibres and always show different textures. Some fibres are lighter, others darker. Small irregularities can occur. This makes every figure one of a kind and is not a defect. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF gingerbread man

  • On a crafting afternoon in Advent: Each child paints their own gingerbread man. By the evening, a whole family of figures is hanging in the window.
  • When wrapping presents: Write a name on a small figure and tie it to the bow. The tag is often kept long after the present is opened.
  • In a bakery or café: Arrange several gingerbread men on the counter or in the shop window. Your Christmas decorations are set up quickly and suit what you sell.
  • In nurseries, schools or clubs: A set of 25, 50 or 100 covers the whole group. You do not need to reorder figures one by one.
  • For model making or table decorations: Small figures from 5 cm fit on charger plates or in winter scenes. Put one at each place setting, and your guests have something to discover before the meal.

Good to know about the gingerbread man

The gingerbread man has been part of Advent and Christmas baking for generations. Thanks to fairy tales and stories, it is one of the best-known Christmas motifs of all. That is why the shape works so well as a decoration. Everyone recognises it at first glance, whether on the tree, in a shop window or on a present.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. Store the untreated figures in a dry place and keep them away from lasting damp. Natural fibreboard does not like moisture. This way your gingerbread men keep their shape. You can take them out of the Christmas box year after year.
