Material & finish

The silhouette is laser-cut from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. This gives you an even, stable surface and crisp edges. The surface is untreated, with no varnish and no glaze, so it takes paint and glue well. HDF is made from pressed wood fibres. Some fibres are lighter or darker than others and may show small irregularities. This is not a defect. It makes every piece unique. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.
