Why this MDF dragonfly makes a difference in everyday life
A ready-made decoration looks the same as everywhere else. One you design yourself tells your story. With the dragonfly as your base shape, you skip the sawing and get straight to the fun part: decorating. In a short time, you'll have spring and summer decorations that really suit your home. You can also combine them with other motifs to create a matching group.
Material & finish
The dragonfly is made from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough to hang up or stick on, yet easy to work with. Laser cutting gives smooth, clean edges with no finishing needed. The surface is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and pens adhere well. Good to know: pressed wood fibres are never completely uniform. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece unique and is not a defect. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.

- On greetings cards and gifts: stick on a small dragonfly. A simple card becomes a lovingly designed greeting for a birthday, Mother's Day or an invitation.
- In model making and all kinds of decorating projects: the clear shape fits into dioramas, wreaths or table decorations. Use it for embellishing, painting and combining.
- For cafés, shops or market stalls: with sets of 10 or more, you can decorate your counter and shop window in a matching seasonal style. It's quick to set up and easy to redesign when needed.
Good to know about the dragonfly
In Japan, the dragonfly has been a symbol of luck and a messenger of summer for centuries. Here, too, it stands for lightness and warm days by the water. That's why the motif suits spring and summer decorations, garden parties and summery greetings cards so well.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated dragonfly dry and only wipe it with a dry cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture, as the fibreboard is untreated. This keeps the surface flat and easy to decorate for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the dragonfly? Yes. The HDF is untreated and in its natural finish. You can coat it, paint it and stick things on it, just as your project needs.
Do I need to sand the edges? No. The dragonfly is laser-cut, so its edges are smooth. You can start decorating straight away.
Why don't all the surfaces look the same? HDF/MDF is made of pressed wood fibres. These vary in shade and may show small impurities. This is typical of the material and makes every piece unique.
How big is the dragonfly at the width I choose? As a reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is approx. 10 cm. You can choose a width between 5 and 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
Is the dragonfly suitable for outdoors? The board is untreated, so you should protect it from constant moisture. Indoors or in a sheltered spot, you'll enjoy it for a long time.
A fibreboard dragonfly is only the starting point. What counts is the moment your hand-painted dragonfly hangs in the window. Then summer seems a little closer. Simply choose your size and quantity, and start decorating.
