The cutout is made of 3 mm thick HDF and is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. That's why the edges are smooth and the outline is cleanly cut. The material comes in its natural state, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. You can stick things on it, paint it or oil it, just as you like. Wood is a purely natural material. So the pressed fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece one of a kind and is not a defect. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.
