Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Your advent calendar still needs number tags. The garland for the children's room is waiting for its hanging tags. And you're missing the right blank to paint. These rectangular wooden plaques have rounded corners and two holes on the short sides. They're made for your next craft idea: thread a string through, decorate, hang up. From a small gift tag to a large wooden board with holes for a door sign, you choose exactly the size your project needs.
What changes for you
- You can hang tags, signs and garlands without drilling or fiddling with holes. Each rectangle already has two opposite holes, Ø 3 mm, on the short sides.
- You design the surface just the way you like. The HDF is untreated, so you can cover it, paint it, varnish it or oil it.
- You get exactly the size you want, with no compromise. Choose from 3 x 1.5 cm to 50 x 25 cm, in 1 cm steps of length.
- You can work comfortably without catching on sharp edges. The laser-cut edges are smooth and the corners have a 5 mm radius.
- You can plan larger projects with ease. The rectangles can be ordered individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why these MDF rectangles make a difference in everyday use
Name tags on gift wrapping, a garland above the dining table or moving parts in model making: with a ready-made blank in the right size, you start straight away with the fun part – decorating. The even shape and rounded corners keep your pieces looking neat and tidy. That's true whether you decorate one piece or a hundred.
Material & finish
The rectangles are made from 3 mm thick HDF and are laser cut. That is why they have the typical brown edge. It comes out clean and even. The wood is cut into rectangles and left untreated. It takes paint, varnish and glue well. HDF is a fibreboard made from pressed wood fibres. It shows fibres in lighter and darker shades and the odd small impurity. This makes every piece unique and is not a flaw. The cutouts are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, with clean, careful finishing. HDF is a wood fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the 2-hole rectangles
- For family celebrations: paint on names and thread a ribbon through. Every place at the table gets a small tag that guests are happy to take home.
- In the children's room: join several rectangles with string to make a garland, then paint or decorate them. Now something home-made hangs above the bed.
- In model making: use wire through the two holes to join parts into moving constructions. No drilling needed.
- At a market stall or in shop displays: labelled tags on baskets and shelves keep your display tidy. When your range changes, you can swap them quickly.
- As gift tags: tie small sizes from 3 x 1.5 cm onto the ribbon to personalise any parcel.
Good to know about MDF and HDF
HDF is made from finely pressed wood fibres. Unlike solid wood, it has no grain direction. For you, this means the board hardly warps. It does not splinter during laser cutting. It gives you an even surface on which colours and designs look calm and clean. That is exactly why HDF is so popular with crafters and model makers.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the untreated rectangles in a dry place and avoid constant moisture. Then they will keep their shape for a long time. If you want to protect them for the long term or add colour, simply paint, oil or cover them.

Frequently asked questions
Are the rectangles treated? No, the HDF is left natural. You can cover it, paint it, varnish it or oil it.
How big are the holes and where are they? Both holes are Ø 3 mm and centred on the opposite short sides. They're ideal for hanging and for joining with string, ribbon or wire.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The rectangles are laser cut. The brown rim is typical of this, and the edges are smooth.
Do all pieces look exactly the same? The shape is identical. However, the fibreboard shows fibres of varying lightness and may have small impurities. This makes every piece unique.
Can I choose the aspect ratio? The rectangles are always made in a 2:1 ratio. For example, if you choose 10 cm, the short side measures 5 cm.
A piece of HDF with two holes turns into part of your own garland. You hang it up, step back and see what your idea has become. Simply choose your size and quantity. Your imagination does the rest.
