Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. You're at the craft table and your paints are ready. All you need now is the right blank to paint, label and hang. What changes for you
- You can start painting, decorating or writing on them straight away. The HDF comes untreated in its natural state and takes paint well.
- You can hang your decorations without drilling or gluing. The ready-made 3 mm Ø hole sits at the top centre of the long side.
- You'll find the right size for every project. You can choose from 3 x 1.5 cm to 50 x 25 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You work with clean, smooth edges. Each rectangle is precisely laser-cut. The cut edges show the typical brown rim.
- No need to worry about sharp corners. The corners are rounded with a 5 mm radius. They feel comfortable in your hand and work well when crafting with children.
Why these MDF rectangles make a difference every day
A good blank makes every project more relaxed. You don't need to saw, sand or prepare anything. The shape is already right. So your time goes into creating. Maybe you want to make Christmas decorations, wrap gifts of money or make name tags for your next party. All rectangles are made in the same proportions. So several sizes also go well side by side.
Material & finish
The rectangles are made from 3 mm thick HDF. This is a fibreboard made from compressed wood fibres. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece unique. It is not a flaw but a feature of a natural material. Each piece is laser cut. This gives you clean, smooth edges with the typical brown rim. The wood is untreated, not varnished and not glazed. You can stick things on it, paint it, coat it or oil it as you like. The rectangles are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a wood fibreboard like MDF, just more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF rectangles
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own rectangle. In the end, a little gallery hangs in the window, and everyone is proud of it.
- For Christmas crafts: labelled, decorated and fitted with ribbon, the rectangles become tags for the tree, a branch or a present. Your Christmas decorations carry your own handwriting.
- For gifts of money: a painted tag with a name and the occasion turns a banknote into a lovingly designed present that you'll enjoy handing over.
- In model making: the precisely laser-cut shapes come in fixed size steps. They give you reliable parts, signs and surfaces. No sawing needed.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: as labelled hanging signs on shelves or counters, the rectangles give your goods uniform, tidy labelling. Quick to hang up, quick to swap.
Good to know about MDF and HDF
HDF is made from finely compressed wood fibres. So unlike solid wood, it has no grain direction. The board hardly warps and does not splinter at the edges. That is why you can paint it and stick things on it so evenly. It is a popular base material for crafts and model making.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated rectangles in a dry place and avoid constant moisture. If you paint, coat or oil them, you decide how the surface looks in the end. That way your pieces will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the rectangles or stick things on them? Yes. The HDF is untreated. You can stick things on it, paint it, coat it or oil it to suit your project.
Where is the hole and how big is it? The hole is 3 mm in diameter and sits at the top centre of the long side. It's ideal for hanging with ribbon, cord or wire.
How do length and width relate to each other? All rectangles are made in a 2:1 ratio. For example, if you choose 10 cm in length, the rectangle is 5 cm wide.
Why are the edges brownish? The rectangles are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim. It's a feature of laser cutting and gives smooth, clean edges.
Do all rectangles look exactly the same? The shape is precisely laser-cut. However, the fibre structure of the material varies slightly in shade. This makes every piece unique.
A piece of HDF with a hole becomes your own tag. You design it and hang it on a present. And you know there is no other one quite like it. Simply choose the size and quantity. Then get started.
