The reindeer is laser-cut from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges without splinters. The face and outlines are finely marked with shallow cuts. This makes the figure look lively even before you paint it. The board is left natural, neither varnished nor glazed. That's why it reliably takes paint, varnish or glue. Good to know: pressed wood fibres always show slight differences in texture and shade. This is not a defect. It is a feature of a wood fibre material and makes each piece look a little different. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.
