That's why it takes paint, glue and decorations well. As a pressed fibreboard, each piece shows fibres in different shades and small surface textures. This is not a flaw. It makes every disc one of a kind. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, just more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.
