Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. It gets dark early outside. Indoors, craft paper is spread across the table. And the children can't wait to start on the Christmas decorations. This MDF snowman is made for exactly that. It's an untreated wooden figure that you can paint, decorate with glued-on bits and design just the way you like. A few plain blanks turn into winter decorations that are truly your own.

Why this MDF snowman makes a difference in everyday life
Shop-bought decorations look the same in every home. A snowman you've designed yourself tells your own story. Whether in the window, hanging from a branch or on the Christmas table: the design brings a calm, wintry mood to the room without being overpowering. And because you decide which colours and patterns to use, it matches the colours and materials you already have.
Material & finish
The snowman is made from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It's sturdy enough to stand up, hang and decorate, yet light enough for delicate decorations. The cutout is laser-cut, so the edges are smooth and clean. The board is untreated, neither painted nor varnished. Paints and glue stick directly to the surface. Fibreboard naturally shows fibres of varying lightness and small irregularities. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. Every snowman is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF snowman
- Crafting with children on an Advent weekend: everyone paints their own snowman. In the end, a row of little one-of-a-kind snowmen hangs in the window.
- On the Christmas table: a small snowman with a name at each place. Your guests also have something to take home.
- In model making or a winter landscape: the flat 3 mm figure fits into scenes and dioramas, in sizes from tiny to room-filling.
- In a café or bakery display: a few large snowmen between the stollen and biscuits. The counter tells of winter without you spending long on decorating.
- For nursery, school or club crafts: with sets of 10 or more, every group has enough blanks. All the figures have the same clean shape.
Good to know about the snowman
The snowman is one of the few winter designs not tied to a particular occasion. It belongs to Advent and Christmas just as much as to January and February. So your decorations don't have to go back in the box on 27 December. The snowman can stay as long as it's cold outside.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the snowman dry, as untreated fibreboard doesn't like constant moisture. A dry cloth is all you need for dusting. Painting or sealing the figure gives the surface extra protection. That way you'll enjoy it for many winters.

Frequently asked questions
Is the snowman already painted? No, the figure is delivered untreated in its natural state, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, glue or decorate it with your own ideas.
How wide is the snowman at the height I choose? As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7.5 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.
Why do the figures look slightly different? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small irregularities. That is exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.
Are the edges smooth? Yes, the snowman is laser-cut, so it has smooth, clean edges. That makes crafting pleasant, even for children's hands.
The fibreboard snowman is the starting point for an afternoon at the kitchen table. You paint, glue and laugh together. Afterwards, the decorations carry a little piece of your family. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
