The silhouette is made from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. The board is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, decorate or embellish it however you like. Good to know: HDF is made from compressed wood fibres. These naturally vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This is not a flaw. It makes each piece one of a kind. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.
