Why this Star of Bethlehem makes a difference
A motif everyone knows brings Christmas spirit into the room straight away. Hang it in the window, above the nativity scene or as part of your own homemade decorations. You choose the size and design yourself. So the star fits into your home instead of looking like off-the-shelf decor. And painting together makes for the kind of cosy afternoon people like to remember.
Material & finish
The star is made of 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough to hang up or stand, yet easy to work with. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and a clean outline, so nobody gets splinters. HDF boards are made from pressed wood fibres and always show varying textures. Fibres may turn out lighter or darker, and small irregularities are possible. This makes every piece unique. And it doesn't matter once you paint or cover the star. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, just more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

- Crafting with children: Each child decorates their own star with paint, glitter or napkin decoupage. At the end, they proudly take their work home.
- In model making and decoration projects: Use the blank as a base shape to embellish, cover or paint – just as you like.
- In a shop or café: With a set of 25 or 50 stars, you can decorate shop windows, counters or tables in a uniform style. They are quick to hang and easy to take down again.
Good to know about the Star of Bethlehem
The Star of Bethlehem is the sign of the Holy Night. According to the Gospel of Matthew, it showed the Wise Men from the East the way to the manger. That is why it is still part of every nativity scene and Advent decoration today. As an untreated blank, you can design it your own way for a church, parish, school or your own living room.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the star dry and it will last you for many Christmases. As the HDF is untreated, you should avoid constant moisture. A coat of paint gives the surface extra protection and makes the star your own.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the star or stick things on it? Yes. The HDF comes in its natural state, so it is untreated. Paints, varnishes and glue stick directly to the surface.
Do I need to sand the edges? No. The star is laser-cut and therefore has smooth edges. You can start decorating straight away.
Why do the boards look different? HDF is made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This is typical of the material and makes every star one of a kind.
Which size suits my nativity scene? As a guide: at 10 cm high, the star is 9 cm wide. You choose the height in 1 cm steps, so you will find the right size for any nativity scene and any window.
This is about more than a fibreboard cutout. It is about the moment the star hangs above your nativity scene and the Christmas story finds its place in your home. Simply choose the size and quantity. You design the rest.
