Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is laid out with paints, brushes and glue. Outside, it gets dark early. And the children can't wait to make Christmas decorations. This MDF fir tree with a snow outline is made for afternoons like these. It's a raw wooden cutout in the shape of a tree. You can paint it, decorate it or simply stand it up as it is. Piece by piece, a few plain blanks become your own winter decorations.
What changes for you
- You can start crafting straight away, with no priming or sanding. The HDF is untreated, so you can paint, stick things on, coat or oil it directly.
- Your decoration fits exactly where you want it, from small table scatter to a large shop window piece. You choose the height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Working with it is pleasant and safe, even when crafting with children. The laser-cut edges are smooth and don't splinter.
- You can supply larger projects in one go. Sets come with 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, all in the same shape.
- You get a clean, even outline for every design. Each fir tree is precisely laser-cut.
Why this MDF fir tree makes a difference in everyday use
A blank that already has a clear shape takes care of the hardest part for you. You don't need to draw or saw anything. You can focus entirely on decorating. In no time, you'll have winter decorations that are truly your own. Put them on the windowsill, on the Advent wreath or as a little row of trees on the chest of drawers. All the fir trees share the same outline. So a group of blanks in several sizes looks even and calm, not thrown together.
Material & finish
The fir tree is laser-cut from 3 mm MDF or HDF. This is a high-density fibreboard made from pressed wood fibres. It keeps its shape and takes paint evenly. Laser cutting leaves the typical brown edge. It gives the design a clear, finely drawn outline. The surface is untreated, so neither painted nor glazed. You decide whether your tree stays white, colourful or natural. As a natural material, the wood fibres show lighter and darker patterns and may have small imperfections. This makes every piece one of a kind. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the MDF fir tree
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own fir tree. At the end, a small, self-made forest stands on the windowsill.
- Making an Advent calendar: number 24 small fir trees and hang them up or stand them in a row. That's a calendar like no other.
- For Christmas cards and gift tags: glue on the small sizes from 3 cm. A plain card becomes a greeting you can tell was made by hand.
- In model making: combine several sizes. This gives your winter landscape depth, from small trees in the foreground to a large fir at the edge.
- In the café, bakery or at the market stall: a large fir tree up to 50 cm in the shop window or on the counter brings a wintry mood to your display. It's quick to set up and decorated in your own style.
Good to know about the fir tree
The fir tree stays green in winter. For centuries, it has stood for hope and strength in the dark season. This gave rise to the tradition of the decorated Christmas tree. That's why the design works so reliably. Everyone recognises a fir tree with snow as winter and Christmas, whether on a window, a gift or in shop decorations.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the cutouts in a dry place and simply wipe off dust with a soft cloth. As the material is untreated, avoid constant moisture. That way, your fir tree keeps its shape for many winters, and you can bring it out again year after year.

Frequently asked questions
Is the fir tree already primed or varnished? No, the MDF/HDF is untreated and left natural. You can paint, decorate, varnish or oil it directly, just as you like.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The rim comes from laser cutting and is typical of this process. In return, the edges are smooth and the outline is razor-sharp.
How wide is the fir tree at the height I choose? As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the width is approx. 8 cm. The proportions stay the same across all sizes.
Can I use the fir tree outdoors? Untreated, it is intended for indoor use, as fibreboard is sensitive to constant moisture. For sheltered outdoor areas, seal it first with weatherproof paint or varnish.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape is identical for all of them. However, the wood fibres vary in shade and may show small imperfections. This is not a defect. It makes every piece unique.
The tree-shaped wooden cutout is just the starting point. What counts is the afternoon of painting, gluing and laughing at the kitchen table. And the decorations that come out again every year. Simply choose the height and quantity, and your next crafting afternoon can begin.
