Why this Christmas angel makes a difference day to day
Christmas decorations you make yourself tell a different story from shop-bought ones. They carry your handwriting, or that of your children or guests. The angel, styled like a classic cherub, is a calm and familiar motif. It fits into almost any Christmas setting. Piece by piece, you create decorations that belong to your home – and nobody else's.
Material & finish
The angel is laser-cut from 3 mm thick MDF or HDF. This is a high-density fibreboard that keeps its shape and has a smooth surface for painting. Laser cutting creates the typical, lightly browned edge. It gives the motif a clear outline. The material is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere well to it. HDF is made from pressed wood fibres. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This is not a defect. It makes every piece a one-of-a-kind item made from a natural material. Made in Thuringia, Germany.

How to use the Christmas angel
- Christmas crafts with children: Every child paints their own angel. In the end, a little work of art hangs on the tree, and they can be proud of it.
- In the window: Arrange several angels in different sizes to create a window decoration that spreads Christmas cheer all the way to the street.
- On the Christmas table: Place a small angel at every seat or in the Advent wreath. Your table will look lovingly laid for your guests.
- Making Christmas cards and wrapping presents: Glue on or tie on the small sizes. They turn a plain card or parcel into something special.
- Model making and all kinds of decoration projects: You can embellish, cover and combine the blank shape. Just as your project needs it.
- For cafés, bakeries or shops: With sets from 10 pieces, you can decorate your counter, shop window or market stall in a uniform style and in little time. You can also paint them in your own colour scheme.
Good to know about cherubs
Cherubs – small, childlike angel figures – are best known from Renaissance and Baroque art. There they adorned churches and paintings. This long tradition is what makes the motif so timeless. In Christmas decorations it feels familiar and festive without following a trend. That's why it suits year after year.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Stored dry, the untreated angel keeps its shape and stays ready to use for many years. Protect the natural material from constant moisture. If you want to display the angel outdoors, seal it first with paint, varnish or oil.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the angel? Yes. The MDF/HDF is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, glue things on or decorate it in other ways. Paints adhere well to the smooth surface.
How tall is the angel at a given width? The height follows the proportions of the motif. At a width of 10 cm, it is approx. 7.8 cm. Other sizes scale accordingly.
Why does the angel have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical, evenly browned edge. It also gives you smooth edges that need no finishing.
Do all angels look exactly the same? The shape is identical, but the surface is not quite. HDF is made from pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small irregularities. As a natural material, every piece is one of a kind.
Is the angel suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it is intended for indoor use. With a protective coat of varnish or oil, you can also use it outdoors.
A wooden cutout is only the start. What matters is the afternoon at the kitchen table, full of painting, gluing and laughter. And the angels that come out of the box again every year. Just choose your size and quantity. You'll design the rest.
