Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The first Sunday of Advent is just around the corner. The craft supplies are on the table. And the children can't wait to get started. This MDF Father Christmas is made for exactly that. It is a wooden blank for painting, gluing and decorating. Every craft afternoon turns into a piece of your own Christmas decoration. For the window, the Advent table or as a small handmade gift: you decide how your Father Christmas ends up looking.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, gluing or decorating straight away. The MDF comes untreated in its natural state and takes paint well.
- Your Christmas decoration fits exactly where you want it, from a small hanging ornament to a large window figure. You choose the height freely from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Crafting stays relaxed, even with children. The edges are laser-cut and smooth, with no rough spots.
- You don't need to draw the face yourself. The face and outlines are already scored into the surface and give you a clear template.
- You can easily supply whole groups too. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 are available for nurseries, schools or clubs.
Why this Father Christmas makes a difference
Shop-bought decorations look the same everywhere. A Father Christmas you've decorated yourself tells a little story. You spend the craft afternoon together. The children are proud of what they've made. And in the end, the winter decoration in your window truly belongs to your home. In a shop window or on a festive table, the figure looks personal and made with care rather than generic.
Material & finish
The Father Christmas is made from 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives clean, smooth edges and neat workmanship. The board is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That makes it easy to paint or cover. Good to know: fibreboard always shows varying textures. Fibres can differ in shade and show small impurities. This is not a defect. It makes every piece unique.

- On the Christmas table: put a small Father Christmas at every place setting. Your guests have something to discover before the meal begins.
- In the window of a bakery, café or shop: large figures up to 50 cm mark the season. Customers can see them from the street.
- In nurseries, schools or clubs: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 you can supply whole groups at once. No need to order several times.
- For model making and gifts: as a blank for decorating, the Father Christmas becomes your own gift tag or decoration idea for Christmas.
Good to know about Santa
The figure of Father Christmas goes back to Saint Nicholas of Myra, who was known for his generosity. From this grew the custom of giving gifts during Advent and Christmas. That is why the motif works so well for handmade gift tags and small presents. A painted Father Christmas on a gift says what it's about before it's even unwrapped.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. As the board is untreated, it's best to store the blank somewhere dry. Protect it from constant moisture. With a coat of paint or a sealant of your choice, your finished decoration will stay looking good for years.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or glue things onto the Father Christmas? Yes. The MDF is untreated in its natural state and can be painted, coloured and covered.
Are the edges smooth? Yes. The Father Christmas is laser-cut, so it has smooth, clean edges. This makes it suitable for crafting with children too.
Why don't all the blanks look exactly the same? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These can differ in shade and show small impurities. That is exactly what makes each piece unique.
How wide is the figure? The width depends on the height you choose: at 10 cm high, the Father Christmas is 8 cm wide.
Is the face already marked? Yes. The face and outlines are scored into the surface and serve as your template for painting.
What you get is more than a piece of fibreboard. You get an afternoon with paint boxes on the table. Outside, it gets dark early. And soon a Father Christmas hangs in your window that exists only once. Just choose your height and quantity and get started.
