Cloud V2 MDF craft cutout – wooden blank, 5–50 cm

It's an untreated wooden blank with smooth, laser-cut edges. You paint it, stick things on it or decorate it however you like. That's how a simple shape becomes your very own sky decoration.

Why this MDF cloud makes a difference

Material & finish

The cloud is made from a 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard and is laser cut. This gives it smooth edges with no frayed spots. The surface is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That makes it an ideal base for painting, gluing and decorating. Because it is made from pressed wood fibres, every board has its own texture. The fibres vary in shade and may show small impurities. This makes each piece unique and is not a defect. The cloud is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF cloud

• In the nursery: Put several clouds in different sizes on the wall. You get a little sky above the bed that brings a smile every evening.
• Crafting with children: Each child paints their own cloud. At the end, you hang up a colourful mobile everyone is proud of.
• For a party: Thread clouds onto a string. Your garland for a baby shower or children's birthday is ready quickly and looks lovingly made.

Good to know about the cloud

HDF is made from finely pressed wood fibres. Unlike solid wood, it has no grain direction. For you, this means the shape can't split along a grain line, and paint goes on evenly. This is a real advantage for delicate decorations such as mobiles or garlands.

Care & durability

There isn't much to do. Keep the untreated cloud dry and simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Avoid constant moisture, as the fibreboard is untreated. If you paint or seal it, your decoration will stay looking good for a long time.
