The craft box is on the table and the children are waiting. But you still need a motif that puts everyone in a good mood straight away. This orange wooden star is just that. You can paint it, stick things on it and hang it up. It's made for your next craft afternoon. Use it as an autumn window decoration, for your Christmas decorations or on a present. The 8-point star brings colour and shape to your ideas.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away, with no sawing or painting. The star comes ready cut and stained orange on the front.
  • Your finished piece looks neat. That's thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges and the precise cut with its typical brown edge.
  • You'll find the right size for every project. Choose from 3 cm for table scatter and Christmas cards up to 50 cm for the shop window, in 1 cm steps.
  • You can relax while crafting with children – the stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
  • You decorate the back exactly as you like. It is left natural and takes paint, pens and glue well.

Why this orange star makes a difference in everyday life

A ready-made wooden cutout takes care of the hard part. You get the fun part: decorating. No fretsaw, no sandpaper. You simply put the star on the table and begin. A free afternoon becomes a craft afternoon. And a plain windowsill gets an orange wooden star.

Material & finish

The star is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives smooth, precise edges that don't fray. The orange stain on the front is applied with care. Depending on the light, the wood grain and small knots show through. Every piece turns out a little different, so each one is unique. Differences in shade and small knots in the grain are not flaws. They are part of the wood. The star is made by Bütic in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use your wooden star

  • Christmas crafts with children: each child paints the natural back in their own way. At the end, a whole row of home-made stars hangs in the window.
  • For Christmas cards and presents: add a small star to a card or ribbon. Your present stands out the moment you hand it over.
  • For a DIY advent calendar: number 24 small stars and hang them on the little bags. A warm splash of colour that brings joy every morning.
  • For money gifts: the star becomes the base for a banknote and a message. A lovingly presented gift instead of cash in an envelope.
  • In a shop, café or at the market: with large stars up to 50 cm, you can decorate your shop window and counter in a few minutes. Seasonal atmosphere without a long set-up.

Good to know about the star

Stars have been among the most popular motifs of Advent and Christmas for centuries. As a symbol of guidance and hope, they decorate windows, trees and presents. In bright orange, the star also works beyond Christmas: in autumn, for a children's birthday party or as a cheerful splash of colour in a child's room.

Care & durability

There's not much to do. Keep the star dry and wipe it with a dry cloth when needed. Avoid long-term moisture, as plywood is a natural material. This way the orange front stays bright and keeps its shape for a long time.

  • Height freely selectable from 3 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps

Frequently asked questions

Is the stain suitable for children to craft with? Yes, the orange stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.

Are both sides stained? No, only the front is stained orange. The back is left natural and untreated. It's ideal for painting, writing on or sticking things to.

Why does the star have a brown edge? The star is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge and also gives smooth, precise edges.

Do all stars look the same? Wood is a natural material. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots show through the glaze. This makes every star one of a kind.

How big is the star really? The selected height is measured from point to point. At a height of 10 cm, the star is also 10 cm wide.

What counts is the moment when the children proudly hold up their painted stars. Or when your window looks warm and inviting at dusk. Simply choose your size and quantity and get started.
