- You'll find the right size for every project, from a small card decoration to a large window decoration. Choose a height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.

Why this kingfisher silhouette makes a difference
A ready-cut motif takes care of the trickiest part for you: neatly cutting out a delicate bird shape. You can focus fully on decorating. That works on your own, when crafting with children or in a group, where everyone gets the same shape. And because the sturdy board keeps its shape, your kingfisher hangs straight in the window rather than curling on the wall.
Material & finish
The solid board in bookbinding quality feels firm and stiff in your hand. It is much sturdier than ordinary craft card. Its smooth surface takes paint, varnish and glue well. So you can paint, decorate or varnish the kingfisher, just as your project needs. The brown edges come from laser cutting and give the motif a clear, clean outline. As the board is untreated, you are completely free in how you decorate it. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard kingfisher
- Crafting with children: every child gets a kingfisher to paint. In the end, a colourful flock of birds flies through the children's room.
- On greetings and invitation cards: stick on small cutouts. Your card for a wedding, engagement or birthday will clearly stand out.
- As a window decoration: a large kingfisher at 40 or 50 cm, painted blue and orange. Your hallway gets a bird on the wall that brings joy every day.
- For parties and celebrations: hang several silhouettes on branches or above the table. Your decoration for Valentine's Day or a garden party is ready in a few minutes.
- In a shop, café or at the market: decorated kingfishers in the shop window or on the counter. Quick to set up and reusable as often as you like.
Good to know about the kingfisher
Thanks to its bright blue and orange plumage, the kingfisher is often called the "flying jewel". In many places it is seen as a lucky charm. That's why the motif works so well on greetings cards, as a gift tag or as a decoration for occasions when you want to wish someone luck.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated board in a dry place and keep it away from moisture. Then your kingfisher will keep its shape for a long time. If you'd like to make it more durable, simply paint or varnish it. This protects the surface and adds colour at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the kingfisher? Yes. The board is untreated and has a smooth surface. You can glue things onto it, paint it or varnish it.
Why are the edges brown? The cutouts are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a clean, clear outline.
How wide is the kingfisher at my chosen height? The proportions stay the same. At 10 cm high, the cutout is 7 cm wide. From this you can work out the width for any size.
Is the board suitable for outdoor use? The board is untreated and should be protected from moisture. For outdoor use, we recommend a protective coat of paint or varnish.
Is the material sustainable? Yes. The bookbinding board is made from 100% recycled material and is produced in Thuringia.
What really counts isn't the cardboard cutout. It's the moment your own decorated kingfisher hangs in the window and you think: we did a really good job there. Just choose your size and get started.
