Why this cardboard spruce cone makes a difference in everyday life
A clear, familiar shape does half the decorating work for you. You don't need to draw, cut or smooth anything. Instead, you hang the cone on a branch, line up several sizes in the window or give it to the children to paint. A grey afternoon turns into a crafting session together, with results you can see. That's how you get winter decorations that look like you made them, not like they came from a department store.
Material & finish
The solid bookbinding board weighs 755 g/m² and feels noticeably firm in your hand. It doesn't bend the first time you pick it up. It reliably holds paint, glue and glitter. The smooth surface takes pens and brushes well. The laser cut leaves brown edges that frame the silhouette and look good even unpainted. Every cone is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is finished cleanly, so you can get straight to the fun part.

How to use the cardboard spruce cone
- Crafting with children: each child gets a cone and the paints are ready. In the end, a little gallery hangs in the window that everyone is proud of.
- During Advent: hang several sizes on a branch above the dining table. The room looks wintry without much setting up.
- For Christmas cards and presents: use small cones as tags on a parcel or stick them onto a card. It's a greeting that stands out from shop-bought ones.
- As a window picture: the clear outline shows up against the daylight. Even from the street, people can see that someone here loves decorating.
- In a shop, café or at the weekly market: use large cones up to 50 cm in your window display. They are quick to hang up, suit the season and store away in little space after Advent.
- For a wedding, birthday, engagement or Valentine's Day: paint the cone in the colours of the celebration. It becomes a table decoration that suits the occasion instead of coming off the shelf.
Good to know about the spruce cone
By the way, most cones you find on the ground on a winter walk come from spruce trees. Real fir cones don't fall from the tree whole. They break apart up on the branch. That's exactly why the hanging spruce cone shape is the silhouette we all link with forests and winter. And that's why it works so naturally as a Christmas decoration on a branch, in the window and in a shop window.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated board in a dry place and protect it from long-term moisture. Then it will keep its shape for many Advent seasons. If you paint or varnish the surface, it becomes even more resistant. That way you can bring out your decorations year after year.
