Why this cardboard bat makes a difference
A bat silhouette in the window turns an ordinary October evening into a small show. Guests smile as soon as they reach the front door. Children proudly spot their own work on the wall. You choose the size freely, so the decoration fits any corner of your home. It can be a small piece on a shelf or a large shadowy figure above the party table. After Halloween it goes flat into the craft box, ready for next year.
Material & finish
The bat is laser-cut from 1.2 mm bookbinding board. This solid board weighs 755 g/m². It feels sturdy in your hand and doesn't warp or bend easily. The surface is smooth and untreated. You can glue, paint, coat or varnish it, just as your project needs. The brown edges come from the laser cutting. They give each bat its clean, typical outline. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is carefully finished and made from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the bat
- Crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: each child paints their own bat. By evening a whole colony hangs proudly in the bedroom window.
- For your Halloween party: hang several sizes staggered on the wall or on threads from the ceiling. Your party room looks as if the colony has just flown in.
- As table or place card decoration: put a small bat at each place, labelled with a name. Your guests find their seat with a smile.
- In the café, bakery or at the market stall: varnished black for counter or shop window displays. A seasonal display that is quick to set up and stores flat after the season.
- At nursery, school or in a craft class: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, every child gets the same blank. You save yourself the tracing and cutting out.
Good to know about bats
As a nocturnal animal, the bat has long stood for darkness and mystery. Since the classic vampire stories at the latest, it has firmly belonged to Halloween. That's why the motif suits not only Halloween decorations. It also works for themed parties, spooky birthdays or autumn shop windows.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the bat dry and flat, and it will keep its shape and stay ready to use for years. Avoid long-term moisture, as the board is untreated. A coat of paint or varnish makes it more resistant.
