Why this cardboard cutout makes a difference day to day
Homemade decorations feel different from shop-bought ones. They tell the story of the afternoon they were made. With a sturdy, cleanly cut base shape, the result turns out well even when little hands help. And in the end, something one of a kind hangs in the window. That's how a simple cutout becomes a bit of excitement for Halloween.
Material & finish
The solid bookbinding board weighs 755 g/m², so it's pleasantly firm. It feels sturdy in your hand. It doesn't warp as easily as thin craft paper when you paint it. It's easy to hang up or stand up. The laser cut gives smooth, clean edges without fraying, so the design looks neat even left as it is. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The cardboard is made from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the cardboard cutout
- Crafting with children before Halloween: each child paints their own head in green and grey. In the end, a whole parade of monsters hangs in the window.
- Threaded into a garland: string several cutouts on a cord and hang it across a door or buffet. Your party room is spookily decorated in a few minutes.
- As a window picture: once decorated, the head looks out onto the street. The neighbours' children will know straight away where it's worth knocking at Halloween.
- As a stencil: place the firm cardboard on paper or fabric and trace the design with a pen or paint. That way you can repeat the spooky look on invitations, placemats or tote bags.
- In a café, shop or at an autumn market: with a set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can decorate your counter and shop window in a matching style. They're quick to hang up and easy to pack away after the season.
Good to know about Frankenstein
The monster with the square head goes back to Mary Shelley's novel “Frankenstein” from 1818. In fact, Frankenstein is the name of the creator, not the creature. As a film character, the monster became one of the best-known faces of horror. Today it belongs to Halloween as much as pumpkins and cobwebs. That's exactly why the design works so well as a decoration: every guest recognises it at first glance.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the cutouts dry and flat. Then they'll keep their shape for years and be ready to use again next Halloween. Just avoid moisture – cardboard shouldn't be left outside in the rain.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the cutout? Yes. The firm solid board in bookbinding quality can be decorated, painted and varnished. At 1.2 mm thick and 755 g/m², it's well suited to this.
Are the edges cleanly cut? Yes. Every cutout is laser-cut and has smooth edges without fraying. That makes it ideal as a stencil, too.
