The invitations are written, the garland is still missing – and shop-bought decorations look the same everywhere. With cardboard hearts, you simply make your own: painted, decorated or written on, all in your colours. The result is decoration that looks as if it was made just for your celebration.

What changes for you

  • You can design your decorations to match your wedding, birthday or Valentine's Day perfectly – because the untreated surface takes paint, varnish and glue reliably.
  • Your garlands and tags keep their shape all evening – thanks to sturdy 1.2 mm bookbinding board that won't curl like thin paper.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea, from small table scatter hearts to large wall decorations – because you choose the width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • No more cutting out by hand – the hearts arrive cleanly laser-cut and identical in shape.
  • You can decorate with a clear conscience – the cardboard is made from 100 % recycled material.

Why these cardboard hearts make a difference

Decorations you make yourself say more than ready-made ones: a heart with the birthday child's name, a garland in the wedding colours, a little greeting at each place setting. If you want to buy paper hearts that stay flat when painted and keep their shape when hung up, sturdy solid board is the calmer, more reliable choice. You focus on the creative part – the shape is already sorted.

Material & finish

Each heart is made from solid bookbinding-quality board at 755 g/m². You can feel it as soon as you pick one up: firm and flat, with a noticeable weight. The smooth, untreated surface is ready for you to stick things onto, paint, coat or varnish. The brown laser-cut edges give the hearts a natural, handmade look. The cutouts are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. They are neatly finished and made from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the cardboard hearts

  • For weddings: write your guests' names on the hearts and place them by the glasses – your place cards double as a little keepsake.
  • For birthdays: thread small hearts together and hang them as a garland over the table – the room feels festive before the cake has even arrived.
  • On Valentine's Day: paint a large heart and add a personal message – a greeting that lasts longer than any card.
  • Crafting with children: paint the hearts, stick things on, add glitter – the sturdy cardboard can handle even enthusiastic brushstrokes.
  • In cafés or shops: hang hearts in the shop window or by the counter as seasonal decoration – quick to put up, easy to swap and available in any size to suit the space.

Good to know about the heart

Since the Middle Ages, the heart shape has been the most widespread symbol of love and affection – from playing cards to love letters. That's exactly why it works for so many occasions: engagements as well as weddings, birthdays or as a small thank-you. A heart needs no explanation – everyone understands the gesture instantly.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: store the hearts flat and dry and they'll stay flat and keep their shape for a long time. Avoid prolonged damp, as the cardboard is untreated – once painted or varnished, the surface has extra protection.

Options & what's included

  • Width of your choice: 3 to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps
  • Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces
  • The hearts are supplied untreated – paints and decorations shown in the product photos are not included

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the hearts? Yes. The untreated, smooth surface is suitable for painting, coating, varnishing and gluing.

Why are the edges brown? The hearts are laser-cut – this creates the typical brown edges that give the cutouts their natural character.

Are the hearts suitable for outdoor use? The cardboard is untreated and shouldn't be exposed to damp for long periods. They're suitable for sheltered areas or short outdoor use in dry weather, and varnish gives them extra protection.

How sturdy is the cardboard? At 1.2 mm thick and 755 g/m², this is sturdy bookbinding-quality solid board – much more stable than construction paper or craft card.

Is the material sustainable? Yes, the cardboard is made from 100 % recycled material and produced in Thuringia.

In the end, it's not about cardboard and centimetres. It's about the moment your guests spot the garland you made yourself and realise: someone really put thought into this. Just choose the size and quantity that suit your idea – you'll take care of the rest.
