It feels sturdy in your hand and does not warp while you decorate it. Leaned against something or glued in place, it stands securely. The outline is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edges and a clean, precise shape. The surface is smooth and untreated, so paints, glue and varnish adhere well. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the baby Jesus

The tradition of acting out the birth of Jesus goes back to Francis of Assisi. In 1223, in Greccio in Italy, he had the Christmas story re-enacted. Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Store the silhouette in a dry place, as untreated cardboard does not like moisture. After the festive season you can simply store it flat and bring it out again next Advent. Once painted or varnished, the surface has extra protection.

Can I paint or decorate the silhouette? Yes. The board is untreated and has a smooth surface. You can paint it, varnish it and stick things on it.

Is the figure suitable for outdoor use? Untreated cardboard is not moisture-resistant. In a sheltered, dry place it lasts a long time. Outdoors it only lasts if it is protected from wet weather.

How tall is the figure at a given width? The height depends on the width. At 10 cm wide, the silhouette is 8 cm tall.

Why are the edges brown? The outline is laser-cut. This creates the brown edges, which are part of the typical clean finish.
