Why this cardboard pumpkin makes a difference in everyday life
Shop-bought decorations look the same everywhere. A pumpkin you've decorated yourself says something about you and your home. Paint it bright orange, decorate it with napkin decoupage or leave it in its natural cardboard tone. It suits a window, a hallway or a laid table. And because you choose the size, it looks planned rather than added as an afterthought.
Material & finish
The bookbinding-quality solid board weighs 755 g/m² and feels noticeably firm in your hand. It's much sturdier than ordinary craft card. It doesn't warp easily while you work on it. The surface is smooth, so paint and glue stick well. The brown edges come from laser cutting. They give the shape a clean, slightly rustic edge that goes well with an autumn theme. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard pumpkin
- Crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: each child paints their own pumpkin. By evening, a whole pumpkin parade is hanging in the window.
- For a Halloween party: large pumpkins on the door and wall, small ones as place decorations on the table. Your guests are in the mood as soon as they walk in.
- In nurseries, schools or craft groups: one shape in the same size for everyone. With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you're ready to go without any cutting.
- In the window of a bakery, café or shop: a few pumpkins in graduated sizes make a seasonal display in just a few minutes. After the season, they store away without taking up much space.
- For gifts of money and small presents in autumn: a little painted pumpkin as a tag turns an envelope into a lovingly made surprise.
Good to know about pumpkins
The carved pumpkin with a face goes back to the Irish legend of “Jack O’Lantern”. Emigrants took the custom to America. There, the turnip originally used became a pumpkin. As a cardboard shape, you can bring this symbol into your home with no carving and nothing to go off. And next autumn, you simply get it out again.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the pumpkin dry and flat, and it will keep its shape for many seasons. The board is untreated, so avoid long-term damp. A sheltered spot indoors is ideal. If you'd like to display it outside, varnish it to make it more durable.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint and decorate the pumpkin? Yes. The untreated solid board can be painted, varnished and covered with paper or other materials. Paint and glue stick well to the smooth surface.
Is the pumpkin sturdy enough for crafting with children? Yes. The 1.2 mm bookbinding board at 755 g/m² is much firmer than ordinary craft card. It copes well with inexperienced hands too.
Why are the edges brown? They come from laser cutting. This isn't a defect. It gives a clean outline with a rustic edge.
Can I use the pumpkin outdoors? The board is untreated and should be protected from long-term damp. It can be used outdoors in a covered, dry spot or once it has been varnished.
