The Pumpkin V3 is made of 1.2 mm solid board in bookbinding quality with a weight of 755 g/m². It is firm enough not to warp quickly and still easy to work with. The surface is smooth and untreated. Paint and glue hold on it reliably. Laser cutting gives clean contours without burrs. The edges show the typical dark colouring from the laser, in shades from brown to dark grey. This gives the silhouette a clearly defined outline. Every cutout is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Good to know about pumpkins

The carved pumpkin goes back to the Irish custom of the “Jack O'Lantern”. Originally, turnips were hollowed out for it. Only in America did the pumpkin take over this role. Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the cardboard cutouts somewhere dry and protect them from constant damp. Then they keep their shape, and you can bring them out again year after year. Is the board treated or coated? No, the board is untreated. So you can design it exactly the way you like, with acrylic paint, watercolours, pens or paper.

Where do the dark edges come from? The cutouts are laser cut. This creates the typical dark colouring on the edges. It is part of the production process and gives the silhouette a clear outline.

Which size should I choose? The size refers to the height. At a height of 10 cm, the pumpkin is also 10 cm wide. Small sizes work well as table scatter or place cards. Large cutouts are good for windows or as wall decorations.

Can I use the pumpkin outdoors? Only to a limited extent. As the board is untreated, it should be kept away from moisture. A covered entrance is fine, rain is not.
