Why this cardboard square makes a difference day to day
Homemade pieces turn out best when the base is right. Instead of struggling with flimsy card, you work with a sturdy cutout. It feels pleasantly firm and stays flat. Your name tags, gift tags and decorative boards end up looking the way you pictured them while crafting. And you can focus on the design instead of the material.
Material & finish
The square is made of solid board in bookbinding quality at 755 g/m². It sits firmly in your hand. It also copes with wet paint and glue without going soft. The surface is smooth and untreated. You can glue on it, paint it, coat it or varnish it. The edges are laser cut and show the typical brown rim. This is simply a feature of the material and suits the natural look. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the cardboard square
- For birthdays: Write your birthday wishes on the square, thread a ribbon through the hole and attach it to the present. It's more personal than any shop-bought card.
- At weddings: Use it as a name card at each place or as a labelled sign at the gift table. Your guests find their way at once, and all the decorations match.
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own square and then hangs it up. It's an afternoon with something to show for it.
- In a café or at a market stall: Write on larger squares to use as price tags or daily specials. Hang them on a shelf or the counter. They're quick to swap and look tidy.
- For Valentine's Day or an engagement: A square with a message on a cord becomes a tag for a bouquet or a gift. It's a small gesture that people notice.
Good to know about bookbinding board
Bookbinding board is the material traditionally used for book covers. It is densely pressed and holds its shape very well. That's why it works so well for signs, tags and decorations that need to stay flat after painting or gluing.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the cutouts dry and flat, and they'll keep their shape. As the board is untreated, avoid constant moisture. If you want to use it outdoors, simply seal the surface with varnish.
