The wedding is getting closer and your craft ideas are ready. All you need now are sturdy signs for names, wedding favours and the bunting. This cardboard cutout is made for exactly that. It is a rectangle with rounded corners and two holes on the long side. You simply thread a ribbon through them. This turns the plain cutout into a tag, a garland piece or a card that you design just the way you like.

What changes for you

  • You can hang up signs and garlands without glue or a hole punch. The two holes on the long side are already cut in.
  • Your craft projects look neat and well thought out. That's thanks to the laser-cut edges and the evenly rounded corners.
  • You can decorate freely with paint, varnish, paper or stamps. The untreated, smooth surface takes it all.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose a width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can craft with a clear conscience. The bookbinding board is made from 100 % recycled material.

Why this cardboard cutout makes a difference in everyday use

Have you ever tried cutting straight rectangles with clean curves from thin card? Then you know it takes time and rarely looks even. With ready-cut rectangles, you go straight to the fun part: decorating. Name cards for a wedding, tags for birthday presents or bunting for a party. All pieces are the same size, the same shape and ready to use straight away.

Material & finish

The rectangles are made of 1.2 mm bookbinding board with a weight of 755 g/m². It is firm enough that signs and tags don't bend. They also keep their shape when hanging on a string. You can glue onto the smooth surface, draw on it, paint it or varnish it. The edges are laser-cut and therefore brown. This is typical of the process and gives the cutouts a clean, defined edge. Every rectangle is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard cutout

  • For a wedding: write the guests' names on the rectangles and tie them to chairs or napkins. Your table feels personal before the first guest sits down.
  • For a birthday: thread a ribbon through both holes and write one letter on each rectangle. Your birthday garland is hanging over the table in just a few minutes.
  • As a gift tag: painted or decorated with paper, the cutout becomes a tag. It even makes a money gift for a wedding look lovingly wrapped.
  • Crafting with children: the firm board can handle bold brushstrokes. The finished piece then hangs proudly on a ribbon in the children's room.
  • In a café, shop or at a market stall: write prices or product names on the rectangles and hang them on shelves or baskets. They look uniform, are quick to swap and keep your display tidy.

Good to know about bookbinding board

Bookbinding board gets its name because it is traditionally used for the hard covers of books. The material is made to keep its shape and to be handled often. That's exactly why it works so well for signs, tags and garlands. They hang, get carried around and are picked up again and again.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated board in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. Then it stays stable and flat. If you varnish or paint it, the surface becomes even more resistant.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the cardboard? Yes. You can glue onto the untreated, smooth surface, draw on it, paint it or varnish it.

What are the two holes for? You thread ribbon, cord or wire through the holes on the long side. This lets you hang it up as a sign, tag or garland piece.

Why are the edges brown? The rectangles are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edges with a clean, smooth finish.

How tall is my rectangle? The rectangles are made in a 2:1 ratio. So at a width of 10 cm, the height is 5 cm.

Is the material eco-friendly? Yes. The bookbinding board is made from 100 % recycled material and is produced in Thuringia.
