Cardboard reindeer – craft cutout, 5–50 cm

So you decide whether it stays natural brown or gets a colourful coat of paint.

The reindeer is laser-cut from 1.2 mm solid board in bookbinding quality. That gives it clean outlines and the typical brown edges. The surface is smooth and untreated. You can glue things onto it, paint it or varnish it. With a weight of 755 g/m², the board is firm and holds its shape. So even large sizes hang neatly. Every reindeer is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard reindeer

• For Christmas crafts with children: Each child decorates their own reindeer with paint, glitter or paper. In the end, a whole herd of one-offs hangs on the tree.
• As a tree decoration: Thread a ribbon through the hanging hole of a small size. Your home-made Christmas tree decoration is done.
• At the window or door: Hang up a large size. Even from outside, everyone can see that Christmas has arrived.
• As a gift tag: Write a name on a small reindeer and tie it to the parcel. That way every present has its own label before it's unwrapped.
• In a shop window or shop: Combine several reindeer in different sizes. The Christmas display is quick to set up. You can rearrange it every year.

Good to know about the reindeer

Reindeer have been part of the Christmas story since the 19th century. The 1823 poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” made them famous as Father Christmas's sleigh team. Rudolph with the red nose joined them in 1939. That's why the reindeer is still one of the most popular motifs for Christmas decorations. On the tree, at the window and on presents.

There's not much you need to do. The board is untreated, so it lasts many years if stored dry. Keep it away from damp and wet. After the holidays, simply lay it flat in a box. Then your reindeer is ready for its next appearance in Advent.
