The barbecue night is planned and the buffet is set up. Only one thing is missing: a motif that shows what today is all about. A cardboard pork knuckle brings exactly this wink to the table. You can craft with it, paint it or write on it. It's just right for your pork knuckle party. Simply choose the size you need. The rest is up to your creativity.

What changes for you

  • You design the motif exactly the way you want. The untreated bookbinding board can be glued on, painted, brushed or varnished.
  • Your decoration keeps its shape and stays upright, even when things get busy. That's thanks to 1.2 mm solid board with 755 g/m².
  • You'll find the right size for every purpose, from a small place card to a large wall decoration. The width can be chosen from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You get clean, even outlines with no finishing work needed. Each silhouette is precisely laser-cut and has the typical brown edges.
  • You can decorate with a clear conscience. The board is made from 100% recycled material.

Why this cardboard pork knuckle makes a difference

A motif that suits the occasion turns a laid table into an invitation. Your guests see at a glance that hearty food is on the menu. You don't have to cut out shapes yourself. You have a ready-made silhouette in your hand that you only need to decorate. That leaves you more time before the party for what really matters. And the result still looks as if it was made with lots of love.

Material & finish

The silhouette is made from sturdy solid board in bookbinding quality. Bookbinders have always used this material for strong covers, because it doesn't bend easily. The surface is smooth and takes paint, glue and varnish well. The brown laser-cut edges give the motif a clear, clean outline. The board is untreated, so you start on a neutral base. Every pork knuckle is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard pork knuckle

  • At a barbecue night: Label a knuckle and use it as a food sign at the buffet. Everyone knows straight away what's waiting in the pot and on the grill.
  • In a butcher's shop or inn: Write on it and use it as a price tag or sign at the counter. Your goods are clearly labelled and the motif suits your range.
  • Crafting with children before a family party: Paint the knuckles and hang them up. The decoration is homemade and the excitement comes with it.
  • At a wedding, birthday or engagement with a hearty buffet: Use small knuckles as place cards. Your guests find their seats with a smile.
  • For catering and club parties: With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can kit out stalls and long tables in the same style. Quick to set up, and everything matches.

Good to know about pork knuckle

Hardly any dish has as many names as pork knuckle. In northern Germany it's called Eisbein, in Franconia Knöchla, in Saxony-Anhalt Bötel and in Switzerland Gnagi. That's exactly why the silhouette works everywhere. Whether as a sign at a Bavarian pork knuckle stall or as decoration for a Franconian regulars' table, the motif is recognised instantly.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the board dry and flat. Then it keeps its shape and stays ready to use for a long time. Avoid constant damp and wet conditions. As an untreated natural material, cardboard isn't made for that. Once decorated, you can reuse your knuckle from party to party.

  • Width freely selectable from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps
  • Available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the pork knuckle or glue things on it? Yes. The board is untreated and has a smooth surface. You can glue on it, paint it, brush it or varnish it.

How sturdy is the material? The solid board in bookbinding quality is 1.2 mm thick with 755 g/m². It's firm enough to be made into an upright sign or stand.

Is the decoration suitable for outdoors? Only to a limited extent. The board is untreated and should be protected from wet and constant damp. It works well for covered stalls or indoors.

Where do the brown edges come from? The silhouette is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown cut edges, which give the motif a clear outline.

How big is the knuckle at a certain width? The proportions stay the same. At a width of 10 cm, the motif is 6.5 cm high.

This cardboard silhouette is made for one moment. Your guests step up to the buffet, spot the motif and laugh before the first bite. Just choose your size and start crafting.
