Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Advent is just around the corner. You want to make Christmas decorations that don't look mass-produced. Perhaps with the children at the kitchen table, perhaps for the window or the presents under the tree. This holly leaf made from sturdy bookbinding board is made for exactly that. It is a classic winter motif as a blank. You can paint it, decorate it or simply hang it up as it is. That's how a plain cutout becomes your very own winter decoration.
What changes for you
- You can start decorating straight away instead of cutting out. The jagged leaf arrives cleanly laser-cut with crisp outlines.
- Your paints, pens and glue hold well. That's thanks to the smooth, untreated surface of the solid board.

- Your garland or mobile keeps its shape and won't curl easily. The 1.2 mm board weighs 755 g/m² and is much sturdier than ordinary craft card.
- You can craft with a clear conscience. The board is made from 100 % recycled material and comes from Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
Why this holly leaf makes a difference in everyday life
A motif you've decorated yourself says more than any shop-bought decoration. Hang it in the window, tie it to a gift ribbon or string it into a garland above the door. The holly leaf brings a wintry mood to the room straight away. It looks calm and natural rather than loud. You choose the size and the design yourself. So in the end it suits your home and your occasion exactly.
Material & finish
The leaf is laser-cut from 1.2 mm solid board of bookbinding quality. That's where the typical brown edges come from. They give the motif a warm, finished look with no extra work. The surface is smooth and untreated. Acrylic paint, watercolours, pens, napkin decoupage or glue all hold well on it. You can also leave the leaf in its natural state. The weight of 755 g/m² keeps the cutout stable in your hand. It won't bend while you craft. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is neatly finished and made from 100 % recycled material.

- Making Christmas cards: glue a mini leaf onto the card to add texture and depth. Your greetings will stand out in the pile.
- On the festive table: place a leaf at each setting as a place card. Your guests will find their seats with a smile.
- In a café, a bakery or a shop window: several leaves in different sizes quickly make a winter display for the counter and shelves. It's affordable and flexible, and you can redecorate it every year.
Good to know about holly
Holly has been one of the classic symbols of Christmas for centuries. As an evergreen, it stands for life and hope in winter. Its jagged leaves with red berries traditionally decorate door wreaths and festive tables. In English-speaking countries, holly even features in many Christmas carols. That's why the motif suits Advent decorations, Christmas cards and winter table settings so well.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the leaves dry and flat. They will keep their shape and be ready to use again next winter. The board is untreated, so avoid prolonged damp. Used indoors, your decoration will stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the holly leaf and stick things on it? Yes. The smooth, untreated surface takes paint, varnish and glue well. You can paint, varnish or write on the leaf, or cover it with paper and fabric.
Why are the edges brown? The leaves are laser-cut from the board. This creates the typical brown edges. They are a feature of the production process and give the motif a warm, clean finish.
How does the width relate to the height? The width is in proportion to the height you choose. At a height of 10 cm, the leaf is approx. 5 cm wide.
Is the board suitable for outdoor use? The board is untreated and therefore not weatherproof. Outdoors, it is only suitable for sheltered, dry spots or after you have sealed it.
This is about more than a cardboard cutout. It's about the afternoon when the table is full of paints and it gets dark early outside. And for the first time, a winter decoration you really made yourselves hangs in the window. Just choose your size and quantity. Then your next crafting afternoon can begin.
