Why these cardboard stars make a difference day to day
Maybe you want to make a cardboard star. Or maybe you're planning a whole garland. With a sturdy, ready-made base shape, a rough idea quickly becomes something you can see. You don't spend time drawing and cutting. You go straight to the fun part: decorating, hanging up and enjoying. The result in the window, on the wall or on the table looks handmade, yet neat and even.
Material & finish
The solid bookbinding board feels sturdy in your hand. It doesn't warp as easily as thin card when you paint it or glue things on. The surface is smooth. The edges are brown from the laser cutting. This is typical of the process and gives the stars a clean, even outline. The board is untreated, so paint, varnish and glue stick reliably. The stars are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard stars
- During Advent: paint cardboard Christmas stars with the children and hang them in the window – and every evening your very own decorations will glow back at you.
- For a wedding or engagement: use small stars as table scatter or write on them as name cards for the table. This way every place is clearly marked.
- For a birthday or Valentine's Day: a large star with a message on the door – and the surprise begins before anyone even steps inside.
- In a shop, café or at a market stall: labelled stars as price tags or seasonal decorations in your display – quick to set up, consistent in look and just as quick to swap when needed.
- At school, nursery or craft group: thanks to the sets in matching sizes, every child starts with the same shape – and the joint result looks beautifully cohesive in the end.
Good to know about the star
For centuries, the star has stood for guidance and hope – from the Star of Bethlehem in the Christmas story to the proverbial lucky star. That's why it fits not only the Advent season but also occasions that mark the start of a new path: weddings, engagements, births or birthdays.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: store the stars somewhere dry and protect them from prolonged damp, and they'll keep their shape for years. Once decorated, you can bring them out again season after season – so over time you build up your own collection of decorations.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the stars? Yes. The untreated, smooth surface takes paint, varnish and glue well – you can paint, varnish or decorate the stars, or use them as they are.
How sturdy is the board? The bookbinder's board is 1.2 mm thick with a grammage of 755 g/m² – considerably firmer than craft card, so it keeps its shape when you decorate and hang it.
Why are the edges brown? The stars are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edges – they give a clean, even outline and are not a defect.
Are the stars suitable for outdoor use? The board is untreated and should be protected from moisture. Suitable for sheltered, dry spots – with prolonged damp it will soften.
Where do the stars come from? From our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. They are made from 100 % recycled material.
In the end, it's not about cardboard and centimetres. It's about the afternoon when a stack of stars becomes your very own decorations – and the moment they hang in the window for the first time. Simply choose the size and quantity that suit your project.
