Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The first Sunday of Advent is just around the corner. The children are already at the table with scissors and glue. And you still need a basic shape to turn into something. That is exactly what this cardboard fir tree for crafting and decorating is for. It is a sturdy blank made from 1.2 mm bookbinding board. You can paint it, decorate it or varnish it. A simple fir tree becomes your place card, your table scatter or your hanging decoration – just the way you like it.
What changes for you
- You can get started straight away when you want to make Christmas decorations. The tree arrives as a ready laser-cut cutout with smooth edges, so there is no cutting out to do.
- Your paints, glue and glitter stay put. That is thanks to the solid bookbinding-quality board at 755 g/m², which does not warp easily.
- You will find the right size for every idea, from a small table scatter piece to a large window decoration. The height can be chosen from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can craft with confidence, even with children. The board is made from 100 % recycled material and the laser-cut edges are smooth.
- You can plan bigger projects without reordering. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 are available for school, nursery or club parties.
Why this cardboard fir tree makes a difference day to day
A good blank takes care of the tedious part and leaves you the fun part: decorating. Instead of tracing templates and cutting wonky edges, you have a clean shape in your hands from the start. And in the end, your decorations look intentional, not improvised. When you do Christmas crafts with children, everyone stays patient. And on the set table, the trees look like a matching set.
Material & finish
At 1.2 mm thick, the bookbinding board is much firmer than ordinary craft card. It feels sturdy in your hand. It handles paint and glue well. It also copes with little hands. The laser cut gives smooth, clean edges without fraying, so every piece arrives neatly finished. The tree is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, from board made of 100 % recycled material.

How to use the cardboard fir tree
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own tree. In the end, a whole colourful row of forest hangs in the window.
- At the festive table: write a name on a small tree as a place card at each setting. Your guests will find their seat with a smile.
- For home-made post: glue a mini tree onto the card when you make Christmas cards. A flat card turns into a little gift.
- As a hanging decoration: drill a hole, thread a ribbon through and hang it on a branch or a present. You have a decoration you can use again every year.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: place large trees up to 50 cm in the shop window or on the counter. The sets of 25, 50 or 100 are enough to decorate for the whole season without reordering.
- Beyond Christmas: decorate them as table scatter or a craft base for weddings, birthdays, engagements or Valentine's Day. The simple tree shape suits many occasions.
Good to know about the fir tree
For centuries, the evergreen fir has been a sign of life and hope in the middle of winter. This is where the tradition of the decorated Christmas tree comes from. That is why the fir tree shape works so well as a motif. Everyone recognises it straight away, whether as a gift tag, a place card at Christmas dinner or a window decoration during Advent.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Store the trees in a dry place and keep them away from direct moisture – cardboard does not like constant damp. After the holidays, you can simply put painted or varnished trees in a box and bring them out again next year.
