Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The Advent wreath is up and the candles are lit. Only the window, the presents and your guests' places are still missing a homemade tag. That's exactly what this cardboard Christmas tree is made for. It's a laser-cut tree with a hole, made from sturdy bookbinding board. You can paint it, decorate it or simply hang it up as it is. In a short time, a plain cutout becomes decor that looks like you. Hang it on a string in the window, tie it to a present as a gift tag or use it as a name card on the Christmas table.
What changes for you
- You make your own Christmas decorations instead of buying them ready-made. The untreated, smooth surface takes paint, varnish and glue without any trouble.
- You can hang every tree straight away, with no drilling or punching. The hole is already laser-cut for ribbon, cord or a hook.
- Your craft project keeps its shape, even when children's hands join in. The 1.2 mm solid board is much sturdier than ordinary card.
- You'll find the right size for every idea, from a small gift tag to a large window decoration. The width can be chosen from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can decorate with a clear conscience. The board is made from 100% recycled material.
Why this cardboard Christmas tree makes a difference in everyday life
Homemade decorations feel different from bought ones. Your window isn't filled with interchangeable motifs. Instead, it shows little memories of a crafting afternoon. All the trees have the same clean outline. So the result still looks calm and tidy, whether a single tree on a branch or a whole garland. And if you've wanted to make a cardboard Christmas tree for a while: board of this quality does half the work for you. The shape is already cut out.
Material & finish
The Christmas trees are laser-cut from 1.2 mm bookbinding board weighing 755 g/m². This creates the typical brown edges, which give the natural cutout a handmade look. The surface is smooth and untreated. Acrylic paint, decoupage, glitter and washi tape all stick reliably. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is cleanly finished right up to the tip of the tree.

How to use the Christmas tree
- At an Advent crafting afternoon: each child paints their own tree. By the evening, the first homemade Christmas decorations are hanging in the window.
- When wrapping presents: a small tree with a name on the ribbon. Every parcel under the Christmas tree finds its recipient without any searching.
- On the table for Christmas, a birthday or a winter wedding: a tree as a place card at every setting. The table looks lovingly prepared before the first course arrives.
- In a café, a bakery or at a market stall: labelled trees as price tags or as a garland above the counter. They're quick to hang, suit the season and come down easily after the holidays.
- As board with a hole for threading: string several sizes onto a cord. This makes a garland with a pleasing rhythm for a shop window or hallway.
Good to know about bookbinding board
Bookbinding board is the material traditionally used for sturdy book covers. It is designed to be firm and keep its shape. That's exactly what helps you when crafting. The tree warps much less than thin craft card when you glue or paint it. Even in larger sizes, it stays nice and flat.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the trees in a dry place and keep them away from prolonged moisture. Then you can simply pack your decorations away after the holidays and bring them out again next season.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint and decorate the Christmas tree? Yes. The board is untreated and has a smooth surface. You can paint it, varnish it, glue things onto it and write on it.
What is the hole for? You can thread ribbon, cord or wire through the laser-cut hole. Use it to hang the tree on a branch or a present, or to string several into a garland.
Where do the brown edges come from? The trees are laser-cut from solid board. The dark edges are created during cutting and are part of the natural look of the cutout.
Is the board suitable for outdoors? Only to a limited extent. As untreated board, it can't withstand prolonged moisture. In sheltered spots such as an entrance or a covered shop window, it holds up without any problems. When it rains, bring it inside.
Are there quantity options? Yes. You can order single trees or choose sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. That's handy for craft groups, school classes or shop decorations.
This cardboard cutout is the start of an afternoon. Paint, cord and a few trees turn into your own Christmas decorations. Then comes the moment they hang in the window for the first time. Just choose your size and quantity. The rest is looking forward to Christmas.
