Why this cardboard Christmas tree makes a difference in everyday life
Homemade Christmas decorations feel different from shop-bought ones. They tell of an afternoon at the kitchen table. Of children's hands covered in paint. Of your own personal style. With a ready-made cutout, you skip the tedious part. You go straight to the fun bit: decorating. In the end, something hangs in the window or sits by the presents that exists only once.
Material & finish
The solid board is bookbinding quality. It's the same material used for sturdy book covers. So the tree feels firm in your hand. The surface is smooth and untreated. You can stick things on it, paint it, coat it or varnish it, just as you like. The brown laser-cut edges come from the production process. They give the cutout its typical brown rim. Every tree is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, with clean finishing right up to the tip.

How to use the cardboard Christmas tree
- At an Advent craft afternoon: each child paints their own tree. By evening, a whole forest garland hangs in the bedroom window.
- On the Christmas table: a small tree with a name at each place. Your guests find their seats with a smile.
- As a gift tag: a 3 cm tree on a ribbon replaces the bow. The parcel looks lovingly wrapped with little effort.
- In a café or bakery: large cutouts up to 50 cm, labelled with your Advent offer, decorate the counter and shop window. They're quick to set up and can be redesigned every year.
- For a winter wedding or engagement: painted trees as photo wall decorations or signposts. One motif that runs through the whole celebration.
Good to know about the Christmas tree
The custom of putting up a decorated tree at Christmas comes from the German-speaking world. Long before that, evergreen branches were a sign of life in the middle of winter. That's why the motif works so reliably. A fir tree is instantly understood as a Christmas greeting. In the window, on a present or on a shop counter.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the cutouts dry and flat. Then they keep their shape, and you can bring them out again year after year. Avoid lasting moisture. As untreated cardboard, the tree belongs in sheltered indoor areas. If you varnish or paint it, the surface becomes more resistant.
