How to use the cedar cone
- Making Christmas decorations in Advent: paint the cones gold or white and tie them to a wreath or branch. Now your door has a cone that never drops needles.
- In the window: hang several sizes at different heights. This creates a calm window picture that you can see from inside and outside.
- Crafting with children: each child decorates their own cone with paint and glitter. They will be proud to see it hanging at the Advent table.
- For weddings, birthdays or engagements: write on the cone and use it as a name card or tag. It carries names or messages right on your table decorations.
- In cafés, bakeries or at market stalls: large cones up to 50 cm decorate shop windows and counters in the winter season. They are quick to hang and easy to decorate for the season. After the holidays, they store flat and take up little space.
Good to know about cones
Conifer cones have been part of winter and Christmas decorations for generations. People collect them, gild them and tie them to wreaths to bring a piece of the forest indoors. The cardboard cone silhouette follows this tradition. But it can be made in any size you like and redecorated as often as you want. Use it as a small tag or as a large shop window motif.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Store the cones dry and flat. They will keep their shape and be ready to use again next season. The cardboard is untreated, so keep it away from moisture and water. A varnished or painted cone is a little more resistant.
