Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The table is set, and the windowsill is still waiting for a motif. What you're missing is the right one to design your own way. This HDF peacock is a cutout for crafting, painting and decorating. It comes to you unfinished, in its natural state, ready for your next craft idea. You choose the size that suits your project. Then you turn the blank into a piece of your own.
What changes for you
- You can design the peacock just the way you like it. The MDF/HDF is untreated, so you can glue on it, paint it or oil it.
- Your window or festive table looks the same from both sides. The inner contours are cut out, so the peacock shows the same shape from the front and the back.
- You can carry on straight away without sanding. The laser-cut edges are smooth and clean.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose a width from 10 to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps.
- Planning larger craft sessions or decorating projects is easy. The peacock is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this MDF peacock makes a difference in everyday life
A ready-made decoration looks the same in every home. A blank becomes yours. Maybe you're spending a quiet afternoon crafting. Maybe you're trying out colours with children. Or you're decorating a whole festive table around one theme. The peacock gives you the shape. You give it its character. That way you create decorations that really suit your home or your occasion.
Material & finish
The peacock is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck from 3 mm thick MDF or HDF. That's why it has the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a clear, defined outline. HDF boards are made of highly compressed wood fibres. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece one of a kind. It is not a flaw but a feature of the natural material. The surface is untreated – not varnished, not glazed. It takes paint, glue and oil reliably.

How to use the peacock
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own peacock. In the end, a colourful parade of birds hangs in the window, and everyone is proud of it.
- On the festive table: Place a small peacock at every seat, decorated in matching colours. Your guests will have something to discover before the first course.
- For model making or decorating projects: Thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges, you can work with the cutout straight away. No preparation of the material is needed.
- In a café, shop or at the weekly market: Several peacocks from a set decorate a shop window or counter with one consistent motif. They're quick to set up and easy to swap with the seasons.
- As a gift tag or small present: Write on it or decorate it, and the blank becomes a personal little gift. It lasts longer than any card.
Good to know about the peacock
In Greek mythology, Hera placed the hundred eyes of the watchman Argus in the peacock's feathers. Since then, the peacock has been a symbol of splendour and festive grandeur. That's why the motif works especially well for festive occasions and table decorations. It also suits any room that needs an extra decorative element.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated peacock in a dry place and avoid constant moisture. This keeps the fibreboard stable in shape. The surface also stays ready to take paint and glue. Once decorated and used indoors, your motif will last a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the peacock or glue things onto it? Yes. The MDF/HDF is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, glue things onto it or decorate it in other ways.
Does the peacock look the same from both sides? Yes. The inner contours are cut out, so the motif looks identical from the front and the back. Ideal for windows.
Why does the peacock have a brown edge? The motif is laser-cut. The brown edge is created during laser cutting and is part of its typical look. The edges are still smooth and clean.
Are all pieces exactly the same? The shape is, the material not quite. The wood fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This is normal for a natural material and makes every piece unique.
Is the peacock suitable for outdoor use? The material comes to you untreated. You should avoid constant moisture. For outdoor use, we therefore recommend giving the surface a protective finish.
What matters is not a cutout made of 3 mm fibreboard. What matters is the moment your self-decorated peacock hangs in the window and you think: that's exactly how I wanted it. Simply choose your width and quantity. You design the rest.
