The square is made of 3 mm birch plywood and comes from our own Bütic production in Pößneck. We lacquer the raw boards ourselves on both sides in the pearwood shade. The clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer lets the wood grain and knots show through. Small differences in brightness and texture are not a flaw. They make every piece unique. The cutouts are laser-cut, so the edges are smooth and the dimensions precise.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several veneer layers glued crosswise. This makes it much more dimensionally stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness. Care & durability
