We lacquer the raw boards in colour on both sides ourselves. On top is a clear, satin-finish water-based lacquer that leaves the grain and small knots visible. Wood is a natural material. Brightness and texture vary slightly, and small knots are part of it. That's what makes each square one of a kind rather than mass-produced.
