Material & finish

Each square is made from 3 mm birch plywood and laser cut. This gives clean, precise edges and reliable dimensions, even when you work with many pieces straight away. We flame the raw boards ourselves in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. Then we apply a clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer to both sides. The wood grain stays visible, including small knots. These aren't flaws. They are what makes every square unique.
