Material & finish

The square is made from 3 mm birch plywood. We laser-cut it in our own production in Pößneck. This gives smooth edges and accurate, cleanly finished shapes. We colour-lacquer the raw sheets on both sides ourselves. The clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer lets the wood grain and small knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Every sheet varies in lightness and has its own texture. That makes each square one of a kind, not faulty.
