The square is made from 3 mm birch plywood. It is thin enough to work with easily, yet holds its shape. We lacquer the raw boards in colour on both sides ourselves, in our own production in Pößneck. The final clear, satin, water-based lacquer protects the surface. It lets the grain and knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, texture and small knots always vary slightly. This makes every square one of a kind and is not a defect.

Good to know about birch plywood
