We lacquer the raw boards in colour on both sides ourselves. The satin-matt water-based lacquer lets the grain and small knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. It can be lighter or darker and always shows different textures. Small irregularities in the grain aren't a defect. They make every square one of a kind.
