Material & finish

The square is made of 3 mm birch plywood. It is light enough for wall decoration and sturdy enough for everyday use. The raw boards are lacquered in colour on both sides in our own production in Pößneck. The clear, water-based satin lacquer lets the grain and knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. It is never completely even: sometimes lighter, sometimes darker, with small irregularities in the grain. That is exactly what makes every piece unique – it is not a defect.
