The board is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. It's made of 3 mm birch plywood, which is very stable and robust despite being so slim. The double seal with water-based clear varnish protects the surface in daily use. The clean finish feels smooth and pleasant in your hand. Wood is a purely natural material. Different shades, small knots and fine structures in the grain are part of it. They make each board unique and are not a defect. The grain can run horizontally or vertically. Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several thin layers of wood glued together crosswise. This makes it much more dimensionally stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness. That's why this writing board, only 3 mm thick, stays flat in daily use and doesn't warp. It is still pleasantly light to hold.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Thanks to the double clear varnish, simply wipe the board with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture and harsh cleaners. That way the surface keeps looking well cared for.
