The dining room is filling up. At table three, the guests are waiting for the menu. You don't hand them a loose pile of sheets. You hand them a ring binder board in strong red, with every page securely filed. The board also sits firmly in your hand as a writing board for orders and checklists while you stand. Menu holder in a restaurant, presenter board on stage or mobile writing board in the workshop: the ring binder board Gastro Red is made for working days when you need both hands and a clear head.

What changes for you

  • You turn the pages of your menu, script or form folder without a single page falling out. The silver ring mechanism holds every sheet securely in place.
  • You can write neatly even while standing. The 3 mm birch plywood gives you a stable, flat surface.
  • Your menus and documents still look well cared for after many uses. The surface is sealed twice with a durable water-based clear lacquer.
  • You always have the board to hand. The grip recess lets you hold it on the go. You can also hang it on a hook when you don't need it.
  • Keep a consistent look: on request, we engrave your logo or a text on the board. Just send us a message.

Why this ring binder board makes a difference every day

Loose sheets quickly look messy. On the counter, at the lectern and especially at the guests' table. A solid board with a ring binder gives everything its place. The pages stay in the right order. Nothing slips, nothing blows away. The strong red stands out. The birch plywood feels pleasant in the hand and shows its light, even grain. This way you present menus, scripts and lists neatly and confidently – indoors and in the rush of service.

Material & finish

The board is made in our own production in Pößneck from 3 mm birch plywood. Despite its low thickness, this material is very stable and robust. It is also pleasantly light in the hand. Two coats of water-based clear lacquer protect the red surface in daily use. The wave shape with rounded corners gives a good grip and has no sharp edges. Wood is a purely natural material. Colour and grain vary, and small knots may occur. That is exactly what makes each piece one of a kind.

How to use your ring binder board

  • In a restaurant or café: you file the menu in the ring binder. Your guests can leaf through it easily. When the menu changes, you simply swap the pages instead of the whole menu.
  • In service and catering: you carry orders and daily plans with you on a writing board while standing. Nothing gets creased, and nothing gets lost between the kitchen and the dining room.
  • On stage, in the studio or at the lectern: your screenplay, presenter notes or speech are filed on the script holder. You can turn the pages quietly without a sheet drifting to the floor.
  • In the workshop and office: checklists and forms hang on a hook by the grip recess. They are to hand when you need them and neatly put away when you don't.
  • At home: you collect shopping lists, recipes or notes in the A4 or A5 ring binder. Everything is in one place instead of on loose notes on the fridge.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several thin layers of wood glued crosswise. This makes the material dimensionally stable. It can also take much more strain than its low thickness suggests. That is why 3 mm birch plywood works so well for a board that is picked up, written on and passed around every day.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Thanks to the sealed surface, simply wipe the board with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid prolonged moisture and harsh cleaning agents. This way the ring binder board keeps its strong colour and smooth surface for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Which ring mechanism is fitted? Depending on the format you choose, we supply the board with a matching silver mechanism: 4-ring for A4 (ring spacing 80 x 80 x 80 mm), 4-ring for A5 (45 x 65 x 45 mm) or 2-ring (ring spacing 80 mm). Each has an inner Ø of 19.5 mm and a filling height of 11.5 mm.

Can I order the board in portrait and landscape format? Yes, every format (A3, A4, A5) is available in either portrait or landscape.

Why does the grain sometimes run horizontally and sometimes vertically? We optimise our cutouts to avoid unnecessary waste. The grain direction can therefore vary. If you prefer a particular direction, just send us a short message.

Does every board look the same? Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots differ from piece to piece. This is not a defect. It makes your board unique.

Can the board be given a logo? Yes, on request we engrave your logo or a text. Ideal for restaurants, hotels and businesses with a consistent look.

What counts is the moment you hand your guests a neatly filed menu. Or calmly turn the pages of your script while everyone is listening. Simply choose your format and orientation. We make the rest for you.
