Jotting down an order mid-conversation. Turning a page on stage without a sheet sailing off. That is exactly what this concave ring binder board is made for. The inward-curving edge rests against your arm when you write standing up. The ring mechanism holds every sheet in place. Loose notes become a writing board that suits your working day.

What changes for you

  • You can take notes standing up, comfortably and securely. The concave shape of the board sits well in your hand and against your forearm.
  • You won't lose a sheet, even when you turn pages quickly. The 2-ring mechanism holds up to 100 sheets of copy paper.
  • You can swap contents in seconds. Whether it's a menu, a presenter script or a checklist: open the rings, change the pages, done.
  • Your writing board will last a long time. The 3 mm birch plywood is sturdy, and the tough clear lacquer protects the surface.
  • You'll find exactly the size you need – from A3 to A5, each in portrait or landscape.

Why this ring binder board makes a difference every day

A clipboard holds paper in place – a ring binder board keeps it in order. Your pages stay in the right sequence. You turn them just like in a ring binder. You come across as calm and prepared, whether at the lectern, at a guest's table or on a building site. Wood also looks better than plastic and still feels good in your hand after hours of use.

Material & finish

The board is made from 3 mm coloured birch plywood or, alternatively, from sanded natural HDF. Both versions are sturdy and robust, so the board stands up well to daily use. The coloured birch boards are sealed with a tough water-based clear lacquer. It protects the surface and keeps it smooth. Every ring binder board is made by Bütic in our own production in Pößneck, with a clean finish and rounded corners. Wood is a purely natural material, so every board has its own structure. Differences in shade, fine irregularities in the grain or small knots are normal. This makes every piece one of a kind. The grain may run horizontally or vertically. This is because we optimise our cutouts to avoid waste. A preferred direction is possible on request – just send us a short message.

How to use your ring binder board

  • In a restaurant or café: the menu filed neatly instead of loose pages. Your guests browse in order. When the seasonal menu changes, you swap the pages in just a few minutes.
  • On stage and in the studio: scripts, presenter notes or speeches are filed securely. You turn the page without a sheet falling out and keep your flow.
  • In the office and on the go: as a writing board for minutes, checklists or forms. You can write standing up, because the concave shape keeps the board steady against your arm.
  • At home: shopping lists, recipes or weekly plans filed and close to hand. One look at the board and you know what's coming up.
  • For surveys, guided tours or at reception: all your documents in a fixed order. You come across as prepared and find every page straight away.

Good to know about the concave shape

"Concave" comes from the Latin "concavus", meaning roughly "hollowed out". It refers to the inward-curving edge of the board. This curve is why the board rests comfortably against your forearm when you write standing up, instead of digging in. It's a small difference you'll notice with every note.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Simply wipe the lacquered surface with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid prolonged moisture and harsh cleaning agents. That way your ring binder board keeps its smooth surface and stays looking well kept for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

How many sheets fit in the ring mechanism? The 2-ring mechanism with an inner diameter of 19.5 mm has a capacity of 11.5 mm. That's about 100 sheets of standard 80 g/m² copy paper.

Is the board available in portrait and landscape format? Yes, all sizes from A3 to A5 are available in both portrait and landscape. Just choose the version you need.

Can I choose the direction of the grain? As standard, the grain may run horizontally or vertically. A preferred direction is possible on request – just send us a short message.

Why does every board look slightly different? Wood is a natural material. Differences in shade, fine structures and small knots are normal and make every board one of a kind. They are not a defect.

What's the difference between birch plywood and HDF? The coloured birch boards are sealed with a tough water-based clear lacquer. The HDF version comes sanded and untreated. Both are sturdy and robust.

This board is made for the moment you stand in front of guests, an audience or colleagues. You calmly turn the page, and everything is in its place. Just choose your size, orientation and colour – your new ring binder board does the rest.
