Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The children's birthday party is coming up, and the theme is clear: technology, machines and blinking tin buddies. Now all that's missing is the right decoration. That's where the HDF robot comes in. It's an untreated wooden figure that you can paint, stick things on and decorate together with the children. It's made for your next crafting afternoon. And at the end, every child holds their own little machine.
What changes for you
- You can start crafting straight away, with no sanding or cutting first – because the robot is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- Your paints, pens and stickers stay put right on the surface. That's because the HDF is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed.
- You'll find the right size for every idea, from table scatter to shelf decoration – thanks to a height you can choose freely from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can easily supply larger craft groups too – because you can order the robot individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You're holding a neatly finished piece made in Germany – produced in Thuringia.
Why this HDF robot makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A robot you design yourself shows your own style. Paint it in bright colours for the children's room or in muted shades for the shelf. The clear silhouette sets the shape, and you decide everything else. That's how a simple wooden cutout becomes a piece that truly suits your home and your occasion.
Material & finish
The robot is laser-cut from 3 mm high-density fibreboard (HDF/MDF) in Bütic's own production in Pößneck. That's why the edges are evenly smooth and won't bother you while crafting. The board comes in its natural form, so it's untreated. You can paint it, add stickers or decorate it as you like. Good to know: pressed wood fibres always show slightly different textures. Some fibres are lighter, and small impurities may occur. This makes every piece unique – it's not a defect.

How to use the MDF robot
- At a technology-themed children's birthday party: spread little robots across the table as table scatter – and your guests have something to marvel at and take home even before the cake.
- At a craft afternoon: every child gets their own robot to paint – and at the end a whole parade of machines stands on the windowsill.
- In the children's room: a large robot you've designed yourself, on the wall or on a shelf – and the technology theme runs visibly through the room.
- In model making: the flat silhouette fits into dioramas and scenes that call for an automaton or a small machine.
- For shops, shop windows or event days: with sets of 10 or more, you can decorate your counter and display in a uniform way. They're quick to set up and easy to restyle for the season when needed.
Good to know about the robot
The word “robot” comes from the Czech “robota”, meaning work. It became known worldwide through Karel Čapek's 1920 play “R.U.R.”. Since then, hardly any other figure has stood for technology and the future quite like it. That's exactly why the motif suits themed parties, technology themes in children's rooms and any project where machines play the lead role.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. As the HDF is untreated, it is best kept in a dry indoor space. Avoid constant moisture. If you paint the robot or stick things on it, it will last a long time as a decoration.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the robot or stick things on it? Yes. The HDF is untreated and can be painted, covered with stickers or decorated in other ways.
Do I need to sand the edges? No. The robot is laser-cut, so it has smooth edges – you can get started straight away.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape is identical, but the material varies. Wood fibres differ in lightness and can show small impurities. This is typical of fibreboard and makes every piece unique.
How wide is the robot? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the robot is 8 cm wide.
Is the robot suitable for outdoor use? The board is untreated, so we recommend dry indoor spaces. Avoid constant moisture.
A wooden cutout is only the start. What counts is the moment a plain silhouette becomes your very own robot – painted, covered with stickers and proudly put on display. Just choose your size and quantity, and you design the rest.
